Pearls of the Aegean

I don't know how many times we were warned by the guides about wearing suitable footwear over on the volcano. They made it clear that we were going hiking and we should wear appropriate footwear, and that it would be quite a strenuous walk. This is why Pin went over to Oia Village instead of coming with me, because she was worried that the hike up the volcano would set off an asthma attack.

I wore my hiking boots that I'd used to hike around the St Ives Coastline earlier in the year.



This silly woman wore satin slippers.... I guess they were suitably ruined.
